The greatest challenge for NIGERIA.
But the great challenge for Nigeria – one that has stunted her development since independence – is how to convince 150 million people to put aside competing interests, sideline different religions, ethnicities, political persuasions, and build a united rostrum or two with strong leaders to truly bring about fundamental change to Nigeria. That is the challenge.
The "complacency" of Nigerians
“Those that perceive Nigerians as complacent don’t completely understand our history. Nigeria went through a 30- month-long civil war that cost over 2 million lives (some say as many as three million); mainly children. After that, my people, the Igbo people, for whose survival the war was fought, were economically, politically – if not emotionally – exhausted. The rest of Nigeria was also...

“In marriage do thou be wise: prefer the person before money, virtue before beauty, the mind before the body; then thou hast a wife, a friend, a companion, a second self.” -William Penn

#ImmaculateConception
The fullness of grace necessitates the absence of sin, for the miscibility of sin and grace is a paradox. Mary is orthodox in every sense of the Word. #PUN. So much that God’s Word nucleated in her womb. Thus was the seed. Thus was Emmanuel.
This Day in Church History. [St Nicholas]
He had a reputation for secret gift-giving, such as putting coins in the shoes of those who left them out for him, and thus became the model for Santa Claus, whose modern name comes from the Dutch Sinterklaas, itself from a series of elisions and corruptions of the transliteration of “Saint Nikolaos”.

Thanksgiving Remix
We usually have all our blessings (family, Friends, health, peace, joy) that we are thankful for to God as we may be accustomed listed up sort of in a litanic way on this day. But this year I offer to do something slightly different.
Let’s give thanks to all those prayers that were NOT answered, when we wanted them, how we wanted them and for whatever reason we wanted them. Thinking back...

“La grave crise que la Côte d’Ivoire vient de traverser a donné lieu à des violations graves des droits de l’homme, et provoqué de nombreux morts. “C’est pourquoi j’encourage votre pays à promouvoir toutes les initiatives qui conduisent à la paix et à la justice. Il ne faut pas avoir peur de faire la vérité sur les crimes et sur toutes les atteintes commises contre les droits des personnes. Le...

The two Wolves- (with a Eucharistic twist)
“My grandson, throughout your life you will witness a never ending battle between two wolves.
On one hand, there will be the bad wolf of wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, gluttony, arrogance, stubbornness, disobedience. And on the other hand, the good wolf of chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, humility, reverence and obedience.
“But Grandpa, which...

Tale: The Devil wakes the Sultan up for prayer.
I heard this in a Homily by Fr. Gregory today. It moved me so much, i couldn’t help but share it.
One morning, a sultan finds it very difficult to wake up at the hour of prayer early in the morning. Deciding to forego prayer that morning, he gets a forceful tap on his shoulder telling him “wake up, its time for prayer, and it is good that you pray….
Curious, he asks:...

-Diametrically opposed-
I am seeing a trend of 2 polarized movements among black contemporaries (women). At one extreme - the naturalista (No hair- chops it all off) … At the other extreme the unbeweavable (Alll”my” hair- Buys much for it).
Could Chris Rock’s movie juxtaposed with any Beyonce’s video be credited for its this (diametrically opposed) ripple effect, borderline seismic? ...
